Invasive Species Removal Event – Remic Rapids Wetland

Location: Remic Rapids Wetland (Located on the Ottawa River Pathway near the John Soprano Sculptures)

This particular removal is to continue efforts on a wetland that was constructed by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority in partnership with the National Capital Commission. This wetland offers a water supply for wildlife, and habitat for amphibians and birds. If you wish to learn more about this project visit our website: https://www.rvca.ca/remic-rapids-wetland-project. We will be removing a few types of invasive plant species including garlic mustard, honey suckle, buck thorn and the non-native giant Mullen. This will allow for the native seeds and shrubs planted to have a better chance of thriving in this wetland feature.
