Winning photographers capture natural beauty for 2026 calendar

RIDEAU VALLEY, October 22, 2025 – After a four-month contest and careful consideration by our judges, 12 winning photos have been chosen for the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority’s 2026 commemorative calendar, in honour of its upcoming 60th anniversary.

Each of the winning images are top-quality nature and wildlife photos which perfectly capture the beauty, diversity and resilience of our watershed. The images range from lake country around Perth and Westport all the way to Orleans in the City of Ottawa. From misty mornings to basking turtles, each month of the calendar is a window into the stunning natural resources we enjoy right in our backyards.

Congratulations to our winning photographers:

Presales are open for the 12x18 wall calendar, which was designed and printed locally with FSC-certified Canadian paper. At only $20 each or 3 for $50, the calendars make great gifts for anyone who loves to work, play or live in the Rideau Valley – or any nature lover on your holiday shopping list! Calendars ordered by December 8 should arrive before Christmas. All prices include taxes and shipping.

Proceeds will support our charitable partner, the Rideau Valley Conservation Foundation. This local environmental charity supports the RVCA’s stewardship and water quality programs, provides outdoor education subsidies for low-income schools and families, and operates an established land trust protecting more than 8,850 acres of natural local lands.

Congratulations to the winning photographers, including cover photographer Pamela Weston, and thank you to the hundreds of watershed residents and visitors who submitted their inspiring shots to our photo contest throughout 2025.
