Outdoor Adventure Challenge 2026
Adventure starts here!
Getting outside is more important than ever: it gets us moving, boosts our mood and reduces stress. And 2026 is the perfect year to kick your Rideau Valley adventures up a notch as we launch our 60th Anniversary Outdoor Adventure Challenge!
This self-guided pursuit encourages participants to visit all 11 conservation areas by year’s end – that’s it. No trail logs or kilometre counting required, just a commitment to get out and explore our unique sites when the mood strikes. Tag us in your trail photos using #RVCAdventure and remember to order your free water bottle stickers!
There are many things to do at our conservation areas. Some sites are a hiker’s paradise: Foley Mountain, Mill Pond, Meisel Woods offer several trail options with varying degrees of difficulty. Others are perfect for casual strolls: Baxter offers five kilometres of accessible and moderate trails, while Chapman’s boardwalk along the Rideau River is famously family-friendly.
Looking to relax in the great outdoors? Head to the beach at Rideau Ferry, launch your boat at W.A. Taylor, enjoy a picnic at Portland Bay or toss a frisbee around at Richmond.
More of a naturalist? You'll love Motts Mills and Perth Wildlife Reserve, both home to species at risk, migrating birds and thriving ecosystems.
