WESTPORT, June 17, 2025 – Embrace the great outdoors with the entire family this summer as Foley Mountain once again offers a suite of family programming for all ages, as well as two special Forest School programs for ages 4 to 12.
Beginning July 4 and continuing for four Friday mornings across July and August, the whole clan can spend quality time exploring the pond, learning survival skills, practicing orienteering and even making works of art from the forest floor. An additional Saturday program on August 2 will explore the exciting world of geocaching.
At a flat rate of $27 per family per program, parents can register for one program at a time or for all of the programs at once.
Full-and half-day Forest School is also returning on July 16 and August 20, offering a chance to try the popular program before committing to a full semester session. Half-day kinder and full- or half-day school age programs will run on both days. Full-day programs are $55 and half-days are $30.
“It’s a chance to try out our programs in a fun and low-pressure way,” said site supervisor and outdoor education co-ordinator Rebecca Whitman. “It’s a great way to get outside reconnecting with nature after a long school year.”

Summer programming kicks off Friday, July 4 with an Outdoor Survival Skills program from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Forest Fridays will continue on July 18, August 8 and August 22.
Advanced registration is required and will close the Wednesday prior to the program date. Programs may be cancelled if there is not enough interest.
