MANOTICK, January 19, 2026 – Are you ready for your best summer job ever? Applications are now open for RVCA’s popular summer student positions, which run the gamut from camp counselling and lifeguarding to engineering, watershed science, stewardship, park maintenance and administrative jobs.
Open positions can be found at www.rvca.ca/careers. The application deadline is Friday, Feb. 13, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
Most positions will begin April 27 and are generally aimed at post-secondary students and recent graduates looking for experience in their field. Students studying environmental engineering may be interested in our technician positions serving septic offices in Manotick or Carleton Place, or the engineering intern position to assist with watershed modelling. Those in public administrative fields can also access valuable hands-on experience in our regulations and septic departments.
Students in environmental science, ecology, biology, stewardship or other environmentally-focused programs will thrive in our forestry and watershed monitoring positions. These students spend most of their season outside doing hands-on conservation work across the watershed.
Our park maintenance position is another fantastic way to explore the watershed, as you spend the summer visiting and maintaining our 11 conservation areas. This job may also offer some building and carpentry experience as you repair and replace boardwalks, outbuildings and other facilities as needed.

Baxter Conservation Area’s popular day camps offer a unique way to spend your summer outside, particularly for those interested in working with kids. Certified lifeguards double as camp counsellors leading games, activities and outdoor exploration within 80 hectares of forest, wetland and river shoreline.
All of these positions offer opportunities for students to learn a variety of skills throughout the course of their contract, while making valuable connections and friends along the way. Students often return for several summers throughout their post-secondary tenure – and, indeed, many of RVCA’s current full-time staff got their start as a student.
