Stewardship Technician (Rural Clean Water Program)
RVCA is one of 36 conservation authorities in Ontario responsible for furthering the "conservation, restoration, development and management of natural resources in the watershed" under the Conservation Authorities Act. We are dedicated to protecting people and property from natural hazards like flooding and erosion, while conserving the wetlands, forests and natural areas that reduce their impacts.
Seven-month Contract
Work location: RVCA Headquarters, 3889 Rideau Valley Drive, Manotick, ON
Full-time: End of September 2026 to December 2026
Part-time: January to mid-April 2027
Salary range of $31.32 to $37.28 per hour
There is no public transportation to the worksite; candidates should ensure they have reliable transportation prior to applying.
About the Job
You will be responsible for:
- Assisting with administration of the Rural Clean Water program.
- Assisting the stewardship team with shoreline restoration projects.
- Gathering and analyzing data.
- Assisting with inquiries from the public regarding funding and grant opportunities.
- Assisting with site visits and preparation of documentation.
Who you are
As the preferred candidate you:
- Are a post-secondary student or recent graduate in program related to environmental science.
- Have general knowledge of water-related regulations, issues and stewardship programs.
- Experience with GIS and MS Office software.
- Valid G driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
What we offer
- Full-time hours (35 hours per week) from September to the end of December
- Part-time hours (21 hours per week) from January to mid-April 2027
- Salary range of $31.32 to $37.28 per hour
