RVCA is one of 36 conservation authorities in Ontario responsible for furthering the "conservation, restoration, development and management of natural resources in the watershed" under the Conservation Authorities Act. We are dedicated to protecting people and property from natural hazards like flooding and erosion, while conserving the wetlands, forests and natural areas that reduce their impacts.

Work schedule is 35 hours a week, Monday through Friday
Salary range of $64,782 to $77,469 annually

About the Job
You will be responsible for:
- Coordinating multidisciplinary peer reviews under the Conservation Authorities Act
- Providing expert commentary on applications under the Planning Act
- Collaborating with other internal professionals and external stakeholders to integrate geomorphology management strategies into land-use planning initiatives.
- Guiding, coaching and supporting junior engineers and technical staff, to foster collaboration
- Developing policies, procedures and regulations
- Acting as an expert resource for internal and external stakeholders.
Who you are
As the preferred candidate you:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geology/Earth Sciences, Environmental Science (with a focus on landform analysis), Civil or Environmental Engineering (with a focus on geotechnical or earth science), or a related field; a graduate degree (M.Sc.) in Geomorphology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Are a licensed Professional Geoscientist (P. Geo) in Ontario.
- Have at least 10 years of relevant experience in geomorphology, preferably within a conservation authority, government agency or private consulting firm.
- Have strong knowledge of landform processes, erosion, and slope stability, familiarity with field data collection and remote sensing, ability to interpret geotechnical and hydrological data, and climate resilience strategies.
- Have knowledge of relevant provincial legislation, policies, and technical guidelines.
- Can communicate effectively in writing and orally in English. The ability to communicate in French is an asset.
- Can coordinate multidisciplinary teams, communicate with diverse stakeholders, and foster strong working relationships.
- Can manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Have strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop innovative solutions.
- Have or are willing to obtain Standard First Aid Certification
- Have a valid “G” Class driver’s license (or equivalent) and a satisfactory driving record.
