Regulations Assistant
RVCA is one of 36 conservation authorities in Ontario responsible for furthering the "conservation, restoration, development and management of natural resources in the watershed" under the Conservation Authorities Act. We are dedicated to protecting people and property from natural hazards like flooding and erosion, while conserving the wetlands, forests and natural areas that reduce their impacts.

Work location: 3889 Rideau Valley Dr N
Work schedule is 35 hours a week, Monday through Friday
Hourly rate of $18.10
There is no public transportation to the worksite; candidates should ensure they have reliable transportation prior to applying.

About the Job
You will be responsible for:

Assisting with site visits
-
Site visits can include walking on uneven ground, working near water, encountering difficult people and being out in inclement weather.

Assisting with the review and monitoring of regulatory applications.

Assist with the preparation of material related to clearance letters for real estate transactions and assist with final inspections on permits.

Performing clerical duties such as maintaining records, database entries and filing.
Who you are
As the preferred candidate you:
-
Are a post-secondary student or recent graduate in related program such as: regulatory enforcement, resource management, planning, geography, environmental science.

Have relevant experience working with the public.

Excellent communication skills in English

Have strong keyboarding skills and knowledge of MS-Word and Excel.

You are comfortable working on and around water either on a boat or near shorelines.

You have a Class G2 or higher driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
