Park Maintenance Technician
RVCA is one of 36 conservation authorities in Ontario responsible for furthering the "conservation, restoration, development and management of natural resources in the watershed" under the Conservation Authorities Act. We are dedicated to protecting people and property from natural hazards like flooding and erosion, while conserving the wetlands, forests and natural areas that reduce their impacts.
Summer Student, Full Time
April 27 to August 28, 2026
Main work location: 2022 Dilworth Rd, Kars, ON
Work schedule is 35 hours a week, Monday through Friday
Hourly rate of $18.10
Park Maintenance Technicians will report to the RVCA Workshop. Maintenance duties may be assigned at different sites throughout the watershed.
There is no public transportation to the worksite; candidates should ensure they have reliable transportation prior to applying.
This posting represents five existing seasonal job vacancies.
About the Job
You will be responsible for:
- Grounds maintenance at conservation areas and facilities throughout the watershed.
- Maintenance includes use of power equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers and other hand tools.
- Assisting with building picnic tables, boardwalks and other small carpentry and building projects.
- Other landscaping work such as planting trees, tending gardens.
Who you are
As the preferred candidate you:
- Are a post-secondary student or recent graduate who enjoys working in the great outdoors.
- Have some experience working with tools and equipment.
- Are comfortable with physically demanding work that may involve:
- Walking on uneven/unstable terrain, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Working in adverse weather conditions like heat and rain
- Have a valid Class G2 or higher driver’s license and a clean driving record.
