Baxter Family Programs

NEW this summer! Baxter is offering family programming. Children and parents can experience nature hands-on, as a family, in one of our exciting educational programs. Come to a program and spend the rest of the day at the beach, or do two programs and stay for the day. Don’t forget to bring your own picnic lunch! Cost is $5 per person per program with a maximum charge of $20 per family per program. Children under 5 are free. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required.

July 27 Nature Navigation Family Programs - GPS and Geocaching
Technology and nature meet in this program where you use GPS units to navigate your way to various waypoints to find geocaches around the park. 1:00PM- 3:00PM
August 9 Outdoor Survival Skills Family Program
Survival in the Woods - How well can your family survive in nature? Try your hand at shelter and fire building, ending the program with a fire-roasted treat! 10:00AM- 12:00PM

Get up close with the pond creatures that you know and love and maybe even some you didn’t know existed. 10:00AM- 12:00PM

There are more insects on Earth than people and they have some pretty crazy features! We will check out these crawling critters in an afternoon of fun. 1:00PM- 3:00PM
