Stream surveys are scheduled with 2 or 3 volunteers and one staff member from our City Stream Watch staff crew. It is best to allow at least three hours to participate in stream surveys, which includes meeting at the site, putting equipment on, running through safety procedures, hiking to the creek, and completing a few surveys. We have the following shifts available:

• Saturday July 15th, 9 am - 12 pm
• Saturday July 22nd, 9 am - 12 pm

We will be surveying Beckett's Creek (in Cumberland) or Steven's Creek (in North Gower), depending on your preferences. We can only accommodate a few volunteers, so if you are interested please reply as soon as possible. For volunteers interested in participating, our meeting locations can be near the Creeks OR for those who would prefer to meet us at the RVCA office in Manotick for 8 am we can provide transportation to the site. 

This particular removal is an ongoing pilot project City Stream Watch has been working on for many years trying to reduce the plant density of the Knotweed in this area. We will be removing the plant by hand and with the use of shovels and rakes to remove root and rhizome material. We will meet up in the south (back end) of the Towngate Parking lot for 9:00AM. We will provide some snacks/beverages, but ask that you do bring along a water bottle.
