Installers in Ontario are regulated by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH). In order to become a qualified and licensed installer in the province of Ontario the following must be completed.

• Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing On-site Sewage Systems - 2006 Exam. Participants must register for their own exam at least 21 days before their preferred examination date.
• Registration as an Installer with the Director of the Building and Development Branch. Registration fee is required.

To prepare for the On-Site Sewage System 2006 Exam the Ontario Rural Wastewater Centre offers a five day course. The course covers Part 8 of the OBC in preparation for the MMAH licensing exam. Course material will be supplemented with photographs and sketches. In addition, the course will introduce participants to approved alternative technologies. A tour of the ORWC demonstration facility is included; this facility has several technologies installed.

Tuition:
$800 includes course manual, lunches and refreshments. Each participant must bring their own copy of the Code and Guide for Sewage Systems which is Part 8 of the Ontario Building Code.
