  RVCA New Administrative Headquarters

November 22, 2006 — The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority (RVCA) is very pleased to announce the start of construction of the new RVCA Headquarters Building in Beryl Gaffney Park at the northeast corner of Rideau Valley Drive and Prince of Wales Drive just north of Manotick.

This milestone event results from the recent signing of all necessary agreements with the City of Ottawa. RVCA is pushing ahead with the construction start in 2006 and has awarded the first tender for site works. This involves site preparation and grading, site services, excavation and backfill, roadways and parking areas. We also hope to form and place concrete for all foundation elements over the next few weeks.

The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority is moving its headquarters from Dickinson Square in old Manotick to a single, modern, centralized building to be constructed in Beryl Gaffney Park at the corner of Rideau Valley Drive and old Highway 16. The move is scheduled for summer 2007.

New Building Concept

The RVCA is very proud of its work and that of its partners in 35 years of heritage restoration and maintenance for the community in the old core of Manotick village. However, for several years now, the Authority has been focusing on our environmental protection work and divesting of heritage conservation which our members believe is not our business.
