Each year, close to 10,000 students, community groups, and members of the public participate in outdoor environmental education programs offered by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority. Part of maintaining a healthy watershed involves teaching people about the natural world and providing them with opportunities to connect with nature. The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority has been offering this valuable service for over 35 years.
What we offer:
Outdoor environmental education programs are offered at both Baxter Conservation Area and Foley Mountain Conservation Area for a variety of audiences. School groups, community groups such as Scouting and Guiding, and the general public participate in anything from pond studies to forest explorations. All programs are designed to be interactive and experiential in two unique natural environments while meeting any curriculum and program guidelines.
