July 8th, 2009, 7:30 PM — “ An overview of Queen’s University Biological Station (Opinicon Lake) activities” Presented by Bruce Tufts, Director. A discussion about the role of the centre and research activities

July 18th, 2009, 8:00 PM — “Ghosts and Echoes of the Rideau”. Award Winning Outdoor performance Presented by the Parks Canada Players.

July 29th, 2009, 8:30PM — “Are we alone in the Universe” Presented by Frank Hitchens. A look at how we are searching for life off the Earth. Weather permitting, we’ll be viewing the moon and other night sky wonders through telescopes after the presentation. Please bring your telescope if you have one

September 19th (Sat.) 2009, 10-4:00 — “Doors Open” - Foley Mountain Conservation Area. Come explore Foley Mountain including the Spy rock lookout and Interpretive centre. Admission is Free today.

Oct 1st (Thursday), 2009, 7:30 PM — “ Bird migrations in the Frontenac Axis” Presented by Dan Derbyshire, Migration Research Foundation. Come learn about bird migrations and bird banding.

Friends of Foley Mountain Dinner and Auction — August 14, 2009

Species at Risk Presentation — January 15, 2009
Join the Friends of Foley Mountain and Marie-France Noël, the species at risk outreach co-ordinator for Eastern Ontario’s Model Forest program, for a presentation on local species at risk. The presentation will take place at the Westport United Church Hall (corner of Spring St. and Church St.) at 7:00 pm. Light refreshments will be provided. There is no charge for this event.

Annual General Meeting – May 13, 2009
The Friends of Foley Mountain Annual General Meeting will be held on May 13, 2009 at 7:00 pm at the Foley Mountain Interpretive Centre. Stay tuned for more information regarding agenda details.

Music Concert: Guthrie House – August 21, 2008
Local musical group Guthrie House provided an evening of musical entertainment. The concert was held at 7:00pm at the Foley Mountain Interpretive Centre and was enjoyed by all.

Friends of Foley Mountain Canoe Raffle 2008
Ticket sales began in May for a red Swift canoe, equipped with a carrying cart, paddles, and life jackets. Volunteers sold tickets weekends at the LCBO plaza in Westport. Tickets were $2 each or 3 for $5. The winner of the canoe was Harvey Taylor of Kitchener.

Annual General Meeting - May 21, 2008
The Friends of Foley Mountain Annual General Meeting was held on May 21, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Foley Mountain Interpretive Centre.
In addition to the meeting agenda, presentations from the General Manager of the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority, Dell Hallett and the Foley Mountain Area Supervisor, Rebecca Whitman were enjoyed. Further, the opening of the Children’s Nature Discovery Centre was celebrated with special guests Duncan MacDougall, former chair of the Friends of Foley Mountain, Mayor Ron Holman of the Township of Rideau Lakes, and Mayor Bill Thake from the Village of Westport.

Music Concert: Jenny Whiteley - August 23, 2007
Juno Award winning fold musician Jenny Whiteley and Joey Wright will perform at the Interpretive Centre. Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased at Murphy's in Westport.

Spirits Rising - August 4, 2007
Join the Park's Canada Players for an evening of outdoor drama on our "nature-made" stage. The event is free and will tell tales of the construction of the Rideau Canal.
